As we gear up for Valentine's Day, we’re bringing you Past Flames, a celebration of all the bullets dodged in the pursuit of love. Get ready for an unforgettable night of comedy, where 20 of New York’s funniest comics bring their hottest takes on past lovers, bad first dates, hookups, situationships, and everything in between—no holds barred.
From cringe-worthy first dates to the messiness of modern relationships, you’ll hear it all as these comedians serve up laughs, honesty, and maybe a little too much truth. But that’s not all. Expect sultry burlesque from the talented Scarlett Spell, one of New York’s best, plus a few unexpected surprises that will keep you on your toes.

we intend to nurture an on-going conversation that may turn into a collective resource that can be shared with our communities, or a communal art project/toolkit on the multifaceted aspects of holistic harm reduction 🧚🏆⚖️

✨ Bios: Gina (she/they) is the founder of Queering Existentialism, a community event series focused on education and connection through a lens of transformative justice and holistic harm reduction. They earned their Masters of Public Health from NYU, and are passionate about co-creating engaging spaces where folks can reflect on the healing aspects of community, altered states of consciousness, dance and sexuality.
Cameron (she/they) serves as FLAMER’s Director of Development, working towards a future where cannabis use and safety go hand in hand. With their Masters of Arts in Teaching, Cameron’s priority on making education fun and accessible pairs well with her background of cannabis industry knowledge. Reach out to Cameron for all things related to FLAMER operations, harm reduction, and education; or just say hi!
Katarina Bartel, LMSW (she/her) is a social worker and psychotherapist based in NYC, providing both trauma therapy and psychedelic assisted therapy and integration. In addition to her clinical work, Katarina enjoys facilitating healing-centered harm reduction workshops for community building in NYC. Katarina is passionate about applying an anti-oppressive lens to her clinical work and loves using mindfulness and dialectical strategies to help others build lives in which they feel whole and fulfilled.

Gina Mostafa, MPH, is the founder of @queering_existentialism, an education and connection initiative based in NYC that provides workshops and intentional connection events focused on healing-centered harm reduction, non-violent communication, restorative justice, psychedelics and other related topics.
Nikita Fernandes (she/her) is a psychotherapist and certified sex therapist in New York City. She is an active member of the kink scene and brings her lived experiences to her work. Nikita's clinical identity lies in supporting people seeking culturally sensitive, poly & kink-friendly, and gender-affirming therapists. As a queer and kinky person of color, she can resonate with clients who share this experience. She works with individuals and people in relationships in addition to running therapy groups for non-monogamous people.

About the Author.
Kari Ferrell is a producer, writer, speaker, activist, and creator. Her work is centered around incarceration and the justice system, mental health, human rights, and other issues she feels passionately about.
Kari’s production company, Without Wax, is dedicated to uplifting and telling other WOC’s stories, across a variety of mediums. Every project that she works on is done with the mission of moving the needle toward a more compassionate society. She enjoys the work she does with Second Chance Studios, Books Through Bars, the ACLU, and other advocacy groups.
When she’s not working doing the above she enjoys spending time with her partner and rescue pup, crossword puzzles, eating x1000, boxing (to counteract the eating), getting stoned and writing about herself in the third person.
