intentional cannabis use: creative flow
reflecting on our first intentional cannabis use event
back in october we had the opportunity to gather at The Emerald Dispensary’s beautiful lounge for our first Queering Existentialism X FLAMER intentional cannabis use workshop focusing on using cannabis as a psychedelic. we provided goodies for the mindful smoking portion that started the workshop. afterwards, we explored the topics of balanced cannabis use and psychedelic cannabis use, through journaling and small group discussion. as we explored the intersections of cannabis, community, capitalism, and identity, we unpacked the way racism and stigma has impacted our relationships with cannabis. it was powerful to reflect on how we can expand our own perception of this powerful plant’s benefits by exposing the ways oppressive systems have impacted our core beliefs and the ways we understand our somatic experiences.
we discussed our gratitude for cannabis, in addition to areas where we have struggled, followed by a conversation on harm reduction and ways to bring intentionality to our consumption in order to sustain the ways cannabis improves our lives and experiences. we also reflected on the psychedelic use of cannabis, questioning how we define “psychedelic,” which opened us up to how set, setting and support impact our experiences with cannabis and other altered states. it was so lovely to hear feedback from people who attended around the unique container we co-created for embodied experience, vulnerability, critical thought and educational exploration. if you missed this last event, no worries, because we have our next one this weekend focusing on using cannabis as a creative tool.
